Meet The Women behind the Mission
Each product is inspired and named after someone’s story who shaped our mission.
Meet three of the women who inspire us most and shop the bags named after them.
Kalkidan
Kalkidan was born on the streets of Addis Ababa. She lived on the streets with her mom the first 9 months of her life. She was adopted at 5 years old and grew to be an amazing young lady. Through Love, Family and God today is a 1st year student at a university in the USA. She’s studying sociology and business, figuring out how to make her mark on the world.
Jerri
Jerri got pregnant at the age of 17. With her boyfriend leaving her and no one to help, she wanted to give her daughter up for adoption. But it was through the power of love and business that today she runs iDefend. Jerri provides a loving home for her 11 year old daughter and is thankful to be where is today.
Emebet
Emebet started living on the streets at 5 years old. After 8 long hard years on the street, she got the opportunity to change. Today, she is a wife, a mother and a Social Worker who brings children out of street life to a life with purpose.
